Holiday flat

If you would like to have a holiday in the Ecuadorian Andes, retreat to a small peaceful paradise, or learn Spanish or Quichua, this page will give you information about what I can offer.

Holidays and retreats in The Andes

FotoIn the north of the country on the saddle between the Mojanda Massif and the extinct volcano, Cusin, a beautiful panoramic view of the Andes opens up. Surrounded by the Cordillera mountains, and with the snowy peaks of Cotacachi (4939 m) and Taita Imbabura (4660 m) towering above, you see the shimmering surface of lake San Pablo. The gentle foothills of these four volcanoes are covered with a patchwork of small plots sown with maize and grain crops. This area is the home of the Otavalenos Indians, known world-wide for their textile handicrafts.

In this wide Andes valley lies San Pablo, a village of 2500 inhabitants, situated on the lake directly at the foot of Imbabura, a wonderful place to take a holiday in lush and peaceful countryside. An inviting area for hiking in the surrounding mountains or for walks to waterfalls, and too for horseback riding. In nearby Otavalo, which can easily be reached by bus, there are language schools which offer individual Spanish or Quichua lessons.

Here I can offer accommodation for your holiday, for your language course, or for a retreat in restful surroundings.
